News!! Where have I been?

There will be a new little one running around my house soon :)!!!!! I haven't posted much of anything this summer for the reason of wanting to spend more time with the hubby and my son. More time spent with my husband resulted in a new little one arriving in March of 2014. We couldn't be happier, seeing as we were told that a second child might not happen so easily. Im now 13 weeks along and will start doing post of my pregnancy along with getting back into beauty and diy stuff. I really have missed the online blog community. So this is my welcome back post of great news and love.

April GlossyBox

April's GlossyBox ~

Bvlgari - Tea Bag for Bath
Yep that's right its a giant tea bag for the bathtub and I must say it smells amazing and was pretty cool to use. Did it leave my skin feeling soft and pampered after the bath no not really. But the bath did smell amazing and was calming. Full size is 9.50.

How I Tan

With summer fast approaching here in the south that means the need for color is also approaching. But with the threat of skin cancer and tanning beds a big no no (I confess though I miss that nap time) the tan now comes from a spray, towelette or lotion. This is what I like to use and I will tell you my tricks for not having streaks or turning orange.

I love the spray product for an all over even color. Like with foundations you have to try a few till you find the one that suits your skin type and tone the best. For me that's Banana Boast summer color. I get a nice even color that I can control. The closer you spray the darker the color. I like to start with a good exfoliation product St Ives or a good DIY sugar scrub.

After the scrub I apply a good moisturizer, making sure I get my elbows knees and ankles really well.  Then I just start spraying, starting at my face and working my way down. The key is a light application first, you can always add more later for a deeper color. I keep the spray a good eight to twelve inches away from the area I'm spraying and do a even swish like motion.

Just let everything dry, I find applying before bed the easiest, before putting on clothes and your done. It does have a bit of a fake sun tan smell, I have yet to find one that doesn't have that smell to some degree. But aside from that I love this product for an at home fake tan.

If you are scared to do this at home on your own, then I do highly recommend going to a tanning salon and getting a Mystic tan. You can set the levels to your needs and it last for about seven days. Just remember to exfoliate and use the lotion on your hands elbows knees and feet.

New Wet and Wild

Wet and Wild Cosmetics has really step up their game since the last time I used their products. The last time I really had used wet and wild was when I was in high school, it was all I could afford then. They worked but were not the best. I can say now 12 years (oh man i feel old 12 years since high school) they have step up the game a bunch. I was in Walgreen's the other day and found the new Fergie line and I had to pick up a couple of things to try. I purchased a lipstick in Penthouse Sweet and a face powder in Rose Champagne Glow.

The face powder is a baked powder so it can be used wet or dry, I have yet to try it out in wet form. This give a nice glow to the cheeks, I have used it over my normal matte blush in the picture as a high light. It gives a nice glow with out the overly greasy look and with out using big chunks of glitter. They have two other shades with more bronzy gold tones that would work great on darker skin tones. This one is very pink and gold which works great with my paleness.

The lipstick is on the brighter side of things and I have been wanting to go with brighter lips this spring and summer. Its also matte but not drying on the lips. its a bright hot pink that's more on the blue purplish side. Works great applied straight from the tube for a bright color pay off. Or applied using your fingers for a more sheer wash of color. It lasted a good while and almost left a slight stain behind when I went to take it off. I will be on the hunt for more colors in this range.

Once again Wet and Wild has really step up their game with the Fergie line and with their regular line of cosmetics. If you are on a budget but still want great products then you should give Wet and Wild a go.

February GlossyBox

So I resigned up for a beauty subscription box. I'm only going to stick to just one though less samples to go through every month and well the cost does add up. I went with GlossyBox, sure its to more expensive of all the ones out there, but I feel you get the best size products. This months box was International Style, so the samples were from around the world.
What I got in this box:

Blvlgari soap, this smells so good. Its so good I dont know if I want to use it. Like just put it in a dish in my bathroom and enjoy the smell. Full size is 5.3oz and the sample size is 1.76oz

Da Vinci Cosmetics shimmer powder. color is wild Lilac. Its a loose pigment but its very soft and the glitter is a fine small cut so it doesn't leave chunky glitter all over the place. Very pretty shade of purple also. Full size is 1.75g. A full size was sent in the box. :)

Missha, Super aqua cell renew snail hydro gel mask. Yep you read that right SNAIL, it has snail slime extrac in it .....going to need a few okay maybe a bottle of wine before I try this out. I might just make my husband instead. But its said to be used by all the celebrities still dont think I could. This is also another full size product.

Nail Rock nail wraps in leopard print. I haven't had good luck with nail wraps but hey I'll give these a try. Full size also.

Lisi Sheer Sparkle lip gloss.  Color is Grand Central. its a hot pink color will be perfect for summer time. Full size also.

So glad I signed back up for this, such great sizes of samples and full size products. Definitely worth the 20.00 bucks a month. Love how it introduces me to products I might not ever try or even have known about.

Mark. Love

Just to start this post out, I am a Mark Consultant and I did use my own money to buy the products below. If you would like to purchase or just simply check out all other products you can do so here My eBoutigue. Okay on to what I purchased this last month.

That's Brilliant Face and Eye Luminizer. First of I love the packaging you can twist the top to close it so product will not squeeze out into the cap. It is a bit on the yellow side but with a little blending it will work for my skin tone. Cant wait to really use this product. cost 14.00

Touch and Glow Warm Glow. Used this today, just swished my blush brush over it  and used it as a blusher. A great light shimmery bronzer for summer. You can also just use on cube if you just want that color. Very versatile product I can see my using it as eye shadow as well.  Cost 16.00

Glimmer Shine Lip Gloss in Pink Glimmer. Its very shear but just enough color to show up on the lips. A bit on the sticky side but not overly sticky. Doe foot applicator and a nice even application to the lips. Must get the other colors. Cost 12.00

Things Look Rosy Ring. My first every fashion purchase from Mark. And I must say this is a very well made ring. It does stretch to fit so can be worn on different fingers. Also on the heavy side but to me it says I will not fall apart. I will get lots of use out of this rose gold ring. Cost 18.00

Sweet Swap

This whole thing started with Cadbury Chocolate eggs on CosmeticGirlAdele  instgram photo :). I post a comment about how they look yummy but we dont have them in the states. She replyed back about doing a sweets/beauty swap. To see what I sent her go here Beauty Swap with DarbieJo .
This is what she sent my and I must say i am so excited to play with it all. The candy didnt last to long lol I do have a four year old son to split it all with. But man it was all good and happy to report no tummy aches but I will be spending some extra time at the gym.

Cant wait to try out the nail wraps and nail jewels :) always a great way to liven up manicure. Going to save the lashes for my birthday bash in April, But I see myself using the rest on a weekly basis. Must and will do swatches and reviews after I have used them.

So was not expecting socks jewelry or hair stuff but man I love them all :). The cat socks remind me of something my late grandmother would wear :) so they will be cherished and loved.

I had so much fun shopping for the swap and receiving a box.

Sweet Indulgences

My very first Two Faced pallet and can I say I'm very excited about this. I have tried and loved the two faced shadow insurance eye primer and had been wanting to try other products by them. This pallet comes in a very nice tin and has two blushes, two bronzers, one highlighter, and sixteen eye shadows. Also a full size eye shadow primer and double ended brush.
Im excited to play with this pallet and to travel. I mean really it has all i need minus a foundation. Love when I can cut down on how large my makeup bag can be.  There is also a good amount of matte and shimmery shadows.

This was $52 dollars at Sephora :) and well worth the price for all the product that you get. Will post swatches on the eye shadows in a separate post didnt want this one to get to long.

What is your latest indulgences?

Jumbo Lippies

This post is to go over my thoughts about Revlon, Covergirl, and Neutrogena's jumbo lip balm sticks.

Neutrogena MoistureSmooth color stick

In the color Soft Raspberry, very soft fruity scent. Smooth application not waxy at all. Has a muted shine to it. Last a good while on the lips. Found this at Ulta for 8.99.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain.

In the color Honey, very minty scent. Very smooth application as well. Very high shine and last a long while. After shine wears away the color is still there. Found at Target for 7.49

Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm

In  the color Scarlet Twist. First of the smell is a bit much for me, smells like a crayon. Also last a good while and is very moisturizing. Its just that smell I cant get past it. Very shiny and highly pigmented. Found at Target for 6.99.

Here is a swatch on my hand.

In all I do like all three. Revlon is my favorite but its also the first one I have ever had. The Covergirl I want to get some other colors I just hope the rest don't smell like a crayon its very harsh to me. I do find myself wearing these more then regular lipstick or lip gloss. Its a quick and easy application and as a mom Im all about a quick use product.

Color whisper

NEW Maybeline lipsticks or their form of lip butters you could say. I must say oh my I love these. Just enough color pay off for a hint of color and amazing shine. Once the shine goes away the darker colors do stay like a stain. The colors I picked out (starting from the left) 10 Bare to be Bold, 25 Lust for Blush, and 100 A Plum Prospect.

Bare to Be Bold lightly shows up on my lips but is enough if I want to just slightly lighten my natural lip color.

Lust for Blush is a lovely nude pink.

A Plum Prospect is an amazing deep plum.

Dry Lips....try this

Oh the joys of having chap lips in the winter. I have tried the Victoria Secret lip scrub and I have made my own with olive oil and sugar. But I saw this on ELF and for $3.00 I just had to try it out. It comes in lipstick form with means for easy application. Just swipe over the lips and then use a cloth and wipe of.  It smells amazing and test like candy. Will be repurchasing this product really worth more then the three dollars it cost .

New mascara

The Rocket Volume from Maybeline ...
A new love (except i grab the waterproof kind)
The brush is a plastic on but has a bit of a taper to it. Because of the brush shape I am able to get even the little lashed in the corner of my eyes. Since it is the waterproof kind it never smudged or moved, but this also meant it was a pain in the but to take off.
